Description
Desire. Out of the thorns she comes for a fleeting display of attraction and then... back she goes.
These beauties just come out to play for one day and then their youthful looks shrivel and disappear to later bear a red fruit (prickly pear). Native cultures throughout the US and Mexico ate both the fruit and flat pads (Nopalitos) but both have fine piercing hairs that if not removed can result in choking and are a major skin irritant.
This image is derived from hand focus stacking three images for clarity and depth of field. It was captured on a Nikon Z7 with a Nikor 70-200s lens at 70mm, f/8 at 1/500.
If you're interested in acquiring a mural-sized wall covering of this piece, feel free to inquire via email. It's a part of my Limited Edition series, with only 100 prints available.
