Artist's Description
Rainbow Sentinels came about after roaming the high country on a beautiful Fall day near Zion National park in Southern Utah. I had just finished photographing several Fall images and on the way home I spotted this grove down a dirt road. The rich, almost black, backdrop of the conifers was seductive. During the autumnal splendor Aspen trees only give us a brief glimpse all stages of converging colors; being green to yellow to red, at once and before me lay a symphony of sentinels displaying just that. The light was fleeting as I raced to set up my tripod. The image was captured and just like that the light was dimmed by the clouds.
