Description
River of Life comes from the Book of Revelation and is what brings life, in this case, to Zion National Park. I first envisioned it while riding my bike along the road early in the morning in Zion. We live about a half-hour away and frequently road our bikes through the park and one morning I noticed how stunning the reflection of the golden cliffs and blue sky were on the river and knew I had to come back in the fall to capture it. Real estate business was slow in 2010 so I was an image consultant for Fatali Gallery in Springdale when I captured this early one very cold November morning. Luckily I had the foresight to wear my canyoneering booties and shoes because it was a chilly 29 degrees when created this. Focus stacking was not an option back then so I used a very slow speed and f/22 to get as much depth as possible. A composite stitch of 4 images was made to get the details. It looks best printed on metal.
If you're interested in acquiring a mural-sized wall covering of this piece, feel free to inquire via email. It's a part of my Limited Edition series, with only 100 prints available. Please note that the price increases as it sells. Just like all my editions, you can obtain certificates of authenticity by providing proof of purchase and your mailing address. Please send the necessary information to ddiegelman@gmail.com.
