Eighteen years in the past, I traversed a freshly graded road that extended from the rural fields of Hurricane, Utah, to a development situated on the eastern side of Washington, Utah—an area my contractor had informed me about. The morning was pristine, a clear spring day with minimal wind as the sun began its ascent. The light bathed the surroundings in a dreamy hue, a blend of bluish-red emanating from the east, while the nearly full moon gracefully vanished in an orange glow on the western horizon. I sensed the need to return and capture this enchanting scene at some point.

Throughout the years, the desire to fulfill this mission lingered, yet the conditions were never quite right—either the wind was too strong, or the moon's position wasn't ideal. As time elapsed, the once gravel road transformed into a paved scenic byway, significantly shortening the distance from my home to a mere 10 minutes. One early spring morning, as I set out to photograph another scene, the captivating memory from years past beckoned me once again. This time, however, my camera and equipment were conveniently stowed in the car.

As fate would have it, I found myself in a race against time. With a 200mm lens in hand, I hastily readied my camera and sprinted to the perfect vantage point, managing to capture the image just before the sunrise overwhelmed the lingering glow of the moon. Sand Hollow Moonset unfolded before me with the quaint Sand Hollow golf community lining up with the moon. It seems to be a recurring theme in my life—God orchestrating detours that lead to unexpected and beautiful moments, if only we remain vigilant to recognize them. This image serves as a tribute to the transformative changes that God brings into our lives.
