Teton Gold was captured on a trip that I took with my wife specifically to photograph the stunning fall colors of Northern Utah and Wyoming. We scouted this particular location the day before as I sought out a "first light" scenario with fall colors. I told my wife the night before that, "you are welcome to come along but there will be no variables on the time we leave" and there wasn't. One thing I love about her is never holding me back. As I set up for this image I noticed a family of beavers coming up to the scene from the creek to my left and that would ruin the tranquil reflection so I quickly dialed in my exposure on my Nikon D300 and fired off two rows of six images in order to later "stitch" together an ultra-high resolution image. Within less than a minute of capturing the images the beaver family was indeed "mudding up the waters" so to speak so I grabbed my camera, still on the tripod, and ran with it slung over my shoulder to my second location about 1/2 mile away where I...
