Description
The East Face of Mooses Tooth, Jim Bridwell Portrait by Dave Diegelman Jim and I first hatched the idea of climbing the East face of the Moose’s tooth while passing through the SIA show (Ski Industries of America) in Las Wages in March 1980. Ron Kauk, Jim and I were on a road trip to climb Spider Rock, which is another story altogether. Any way we’re at the show and Jim figured that we might as well try to hustle up some sponsorships for something big. The obvious choice was the unclimbed east face of Moose’s Tooth. It had been attempted by some very strong parties including our friend Jeff Lowe, but success had eluded them as the rock was so rotten that it was like climbing on “brown sugar” Jeff said.
