Description
Gooseberry Mesa Hurricane Utah was created on a dark monsoon evening in 2022. I wasn't sure if there would be any good light at all and was stationed on one of my many "perches" around Hurricane Utah while capturing a time-lapse video for a real estate project. Luckily I had both of my camera bodies with me (Nikon Z6 & Z7) and my arsenal of lenses and an extra tripod. I don't usually carry that much stuff with me but I was elated when the sky to the west opened up spilling this 30 second ray of evening light illuminating one of my favorite features in the Hurricane Valley, Gooseberry Mesa. I scurried to attach my 70-200mm lens on my Z7, set up the tripod and just after I had decided upon the composition and captured it, the fleeting light descended to a flat grey. Light, like life, is precious, often fleeting and reminds me to be grateful for God's gifts.
