Description
Late Bloomers Near Zion National Park was captured in September of super-year 2023. Most years in desert Southwest we are graced with a second bloom if we get seasonal monsoons. They only come once the temperatures diminish from the scathing heat of Summer. You have to look in the small steps and bowls near volcanos as the bedrock retains the groundwater long enough for germination. On this year the second bloom was more dramatic then our Spring bloom.
When I was younger I too was a late bloomer. It was a bit intimidating at the time but didn't really hold me back from anything as I knew that I would soon be following. I didn't start shaving until I was 18 or 19 and I remember that my first can of shaving cream lasted a couple of years! Now that I'm in my 60's certain attributes of "late blooming" are an asset rather than a liability. God uniquely created each of us and in our own time, just like the flowers of the field, we have our moments to shine, if only for a season.
Keep your eyes open even if you are told it's the wrong season.
